Review and deliver
Saving and finalizing a proposal
Use drafts safely, resolve required fields, and create the finalized version needed for delivery.Saving and finalizing serve different purposes. A draft preserves work in progress. Finalization marks a reviewed proposal as ready for customer delivery and unlocks the delivery panel.
Save a draft
Select Save Draft on a new proposal or Save Changes on an existing draft. Incomplete customer, equipment, and price fields are allowed.
The header shows Unsaved changes after an edit. If you try to leave while changes are unsaved, the editor asks for confirmation.
Finalization checklist
Select Finalize Proposal when the work is ready. Hawkeye Estimates requires:
- Proposal number and proposal date
- Customer name
- Street address, city, state, and ZIP code
- Option label for every active option
- Product name for every active option
- Price for every active option
- Completed web-research review when flagged
- Completed warranty review when flagged
The form lists and highlights missing requirements. Correct them and select Finalize Proposal again.
Edit a finalized proposal
Select Reopen as Draft before making changes. Review and save the revised proposal, then finalize it again.
An existing secure customer link contains an immutable snapshot. Editing or refinalizing the working proposal does not change that already-created customer copy. Regenerate the link when the customer must receive a new snapshot.
Resolve a save conflict
If the proposal changed in another browser session after you loaded it, the editor protects the newer saved revision. Preserve the work visible in your browser, reload the current saved record in a separate view if needed, and reconcile deliberately rather than repeatedly pressing Save.
