Entering and reviewing prices
Set contractor-controlled customer prices and verify each final total.Pricing remains contractor controlled and is entered separately for every active equipment option. The customer preview shows the saved price, any enabled discount, and the resulting final total.
Enter a price
- Open an active option under Equipment options.
- Find the Pricing fieldset.
- Enter the customer-facing amount in Price.
- Check the Price, Discount, and Final total summary below the fields.
- Repeat for every active option.
Enter dollars and cents. Hawkeye Estimates stores money as whole cents to keep calculations predictable.
Understand the calculation
Without a discount, the final total equals the entered price. With a discount, the final total is the entered price minus the calculated discount. A discount cannot reduce the total below zero.
The customer proposal does not calculate tax, financing, or additional fees. If those topics are relevant, describe them accurately in proposal notes and follow your company’s approved process.
Correct common price issues
- Price is missing at finalization: enter a value for each active option.
- Wrong total: check whether Enable discount is selected and review its type and value.
- Price belongs to another option: compare the option label and product name immediately above the Pricing section.
- A customer should not see a draft price: keep the proposal in Draft and do not create a customer link until review is complete.
